Justin is a civil engineer by training, with a keen interest in urban renewal and the contribution of a healthy transportation system to a city’s well-being and economic growth. He designed and built major roads and related physical infrastructure all over South Africa – until he realized that a sustainable city system relies on vibrant public transportation systems, and not on more tarmac or lanes. This led him to move from consulting engineering to found GoMetro (Pty) Ltd, a company specialized in transportation system planning by means of data science and next-generation mobile applications active in the field. GoMetro’s data is used in projects across the African continent.
Justin Coetzee is an ITS Expert – with comprehensive and deep experience in Data Analytics, Telematics, Passenger Information Systems, Automated Fare Collection, Booking Engines and Customer/User Experience.
