Johan is an admitted attorney with an LLB from Stellenbosch University and an LLM in Commercial Law from UNISA.
He has also studied economics and short courses in Smart Cities (Open University, UK), Internet of Things (Kings College London), and Achieving Sustainable Development (Trinity College, Dublin), among others.
Instead of practicing law, Johan decided to rather focus on solving challenges in the energy and transport reform spaces. As such, prior to joining the GoMetro team, he worked in two global strategic management consulting companies, advising governments and private companies on policy, business case development and geographic expansion matters related to the energy and transport sectors.
Recently, he has also been involved with smart cities projects including open data and urban renewal initiatives.
His role at GoMetro includes driving the local and global expansion of the business. He was also part of the team responsible for launching an M-a-a-S on-demand transit service focusing on high density travel to help alleviate urban congestion, saving the Commuter time, money, and increasing economic productivity for the Commuter and the Corporate involved.
