Gareth Taylor is the country manager at Bolt South Africa. He was appointed in February 2018,
following a five-year career at the Awethu Project. During his tenure at Awethu, Gareth held numerous management positions including Shared Services Manager and Incubation Manager, where he defined, designed and rolled out its Talent Management Strategy. He became Head of Business Incubation and Post Investment Management in 2015 and 2016 respectively, where he managed profitability targets for the businesses in its investment portfolio, as well as the Incubation team's growth strategy. Gareth was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2017 and was part of the design and management team for the Awethu Project App, which won "Best Education Solution" at the MTN App of the Year Awards 2017.
Prior to his time at the Awethu Project, Gareth worked as a management consultant at IQ Business, after a three-year career at Vox Telecom and Vox Mobile, as Product Manager and Executive Head respectively.
Gareth graduated with a B Comm degree in Management Accounting and Finance from the
University of the Witwatersrand in 2008, and completed the INSEAD Social Entrepreneurship
Executive Programme in 2015.
