The 2020s will be the decade of the Electric Vehicle. A dramatic move away from Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles is expected to happen and by 2025 only plug-in electric vehicles are likely to be sold. How will a transition to clean, smart and more efficient mobility impact on the economy and social factors in developing countries? We look at socio-economic impact of electrification of the transport sector on primarily the automotive and oil industry, as well as power sectors.
